23 upper secondary school pupils are facing an exciting weekend at Aarhus University: We welcome Math Club Weekend!

2012.11.22 | Christine Dilling

QGM is repeating the success from last year's "Geek Club". This year's course is one intensive weekend, where the pupils will grapple with lectures and lots of interesting exercises. And the young people look forward to it: Read article from upper secondary school HTX Skjern (in Danish only)

The concept for the Math Club Weekend came about because two Ph.d. students wished they had been given better information when they were upper secondary school pupils themselves about what mathematics really involves at university and what a mathematician actually does.

Math Club Weekend

The Math Club is organized by the Centre for Quantum Geometry of Moduli Spaces (QGM), a basic research centre at Aarhus University funded by the Danish National Research Foundation. QGM is headed by Professor Jørgen Ellegaard Andersen and the aim of the centre is to carry out research into the mathematical basis for quantum field theory, which is used in physics to describe all particles and the universe at very small distances.

(The course is free of charge - Lunch and dinner inclusive)
